Clean, Then Seal
A wash brings the color back. A seal keeps it: Vegas UV, calcium-heavy water and pool-day spills are all trying to undo the clean from day one, and bare stone drinks in every one of them. Sealing closes the surface so the desert has to work a lot harder.
How It Runs
The whole craft of backyard washing is restraint: knowing what each surface can take and staying under it. Here’s the run.
Can pressure washing damage pavers or cool deck? Yes, in careless hands, and it’s the most common damage we get called to look at. Raw high pressure peels cool deck coatings and blows the sand out of paver joints. The fix is method: low-pressure washing with the detergent doing the work, joint-safe passes on pavers, and no full-pressure wand on any coated or soft surface, ever.

Careless pressure washing absolutely can, and repairing peeled cool deck costs far more than washing it right the first time. We clean soft surfaces at low pressure with the detergent doing the work, keep paver passes joint-safe, and never put a full-pressure wand on a coated surface. That’s the whole discipline.
On travertine, pavers and stamped concrete around a Vegas pool: usually yes. Sealing holds the washed color, makes sunscreen and drink spills wipe up instead of soak in, and helps paver joints stay tight. It typically holds up for a few seasons of desert sun before a refresh, and we’ll tell you honestly if your surface doesn’t need it.
Tell us the date first and we’ll work backwards from it. Event-week washes get scheduled tight, and if sealing is part of the plan we build in the cure window so the deck is walkable well before the first guest. The earlier in the week you call, the more certain Friday becomes.
Where the joints need it, yes: washed pavers get fresh joint sand swept and settled before any sealing goes down. It’s the difference between pavers that look clean and pavers that feel solid underfoot.

Most backyard decks look their best on a yearly wash, ideally before the swim season starts. Sealed surfaces stretch longer between cleans because the grime can’t get its grip. Heavy tree cover, hard-water sprinklers or a busy pool schedule move it sooner.
